INTERMEDIATE AND SECONDARY T20 RULES

           

 

 

 

 

OBJECTIVES

 

Participation is the aim of Intermediate Cricket  is to give each player the opportunity to both bat and bowl.

PITCH                                   -               Length size

BALL                                     -               Hard Cricket Ball 142gm pbca (supply )

SCORE SHEETS                 -               A specifically designed score sheet will be issued each week with

 the gear bag.

                                                               

1.       Teams shall consist of  8 players.

2.       Games to comprise of 20 overs each innings.  All players must bowl a minimum of 2 overs each; no player to bowl their third over until each has bowled their second .  If the team is short of players then fill-in bowlers may be used and then only 1 extra over per player.

3.       An over shall have 6 balls only regardless of wides and no balls.  A batter cannot be ‘out’ from a ‘No Ball’ but may score off it.  Bowler will bowl from one end only, this will save time and confusion for first time players.

4.       Wides and NO Balls scored as two Runs – Free Hit for “all not balls “ 

5.       No LBW’s.

6.       A batter can be caught, bowled, hit wicket or run out.  .

7.       When a batsman is out they are out and will not continue in the match.

8.       If there is ever any doubt about whether a batter is out, then he/she shall be given ‘NOT OUT’.

9.       No player is to field closer than 10 metres from the batter facing the bowling except for the wicket keeper or slips.

10.    Umpires only are allowed to coach and assist the players on the field during the game.

11.    If any changes to the rules are required both teams must agree before the game starts,  ie. if no agreement, then the rules as stated herein apply.  

12.    Should teams have spare players, please try to arrange for the spare players to play in the other team if they are short, or if other teams on the same ground are short of players, then the spares should be offered the available spaces.

14.    Batters may run for overthrows only if in the act of running after playing the ball.

15.    Players own bats may be used.

16.    No Stumping or Run-out if a player is wandering out of the crease when play is dead – Normal cricket rules apply.

17.    If a team has an odd number then some another batsman can be the runner for the odd numbered batsman.

17.  If teams has more or less then 8 then the two coaches will decide on the number of overs per batsman in keeping with the everybody gets equal opportunity concept.
